Weather permitting, we'll draw outdoors in the backyard courtyard. The neighbors can see us, but hey, it's the East Village. They don't care and neither do we! We'll have a potluck dinner after the drawing session.
A fun, friendly activity where you can be naked, practice figure drawing, AND try out being a model (if you want). Don't worry about your drawing abilities (beginners, stick figures are welcome!) - there's no judgment (about bodies or drawings), only encouragement!
Now you can attend without joining the Meetup group. Advance payment required for non-members. Young Artist (18-29) non-member price is $10. Regular non-member price is $20. Limited number of spaces for non-members. Note: most of our studio sessions have 15-20 attendees total.
Doors open 15 minutes before event start time. Late arrivals okay; leaving early okay.
Potluck begins at 6pm. Please bring real food, wine, etc. for the pot luck.
A sketch group for nudist male artists where artists (beginners welcome) take turns posing for each other. Our focus is to draw the male figure and depict masculinity in an open-minded, sex-positive nature not found in traditional drawing groups. When both the model and the artist are naked, they are on equal footing, encouraging openness and camaraderie. Sexy camaraderie and sexy poses are encouraged, but it's not a hook-up event. (We welcome all men, including transgender men.)
Bring your own drawing materials.
Bring a towel/shirt for the metal chairs.
Feel free to bring a healthy snack (fruit, cheese, chips, etc) or refreshment (wine, juice, etc) to share (totally optional).
The location is a couple blocks east of Union Square. Nearby subways: 14 St-Union Sq (L,N,Q,R,W,4,5,6), 3 Ave (L). The venue is not wheelchair accessible.
NOTE: This session will be run by Chuck. Depending on who shows up, the sexual energy is sometimes higher at this location.
